ICMP assisted with DNA testing of 2,671 reference samples and 255 post-mortem samples of missing persons and provided important support for DNA comparison and advice. The non-Western Balkan countries where ICMP has provided assistance are Cameroon, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, the Philippines, Thailand, Albania, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Norway, Ukraine, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Turkey, Canada, the United States, Cuba, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Haiti and Mexico. The Framework Agreement establishes icmp as a specialized international organization to comprehensively address the global problem of missing persons, assist States in fulfilling their obligation to prevent the disappearance of persons and effectively investigate missing persons. .
